Many Hospitals Deny Jakarta Health Card’s Patients

Many Hospitals Deny Jakarta Health Card’s Patients
Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia that has many complicated problems which will never end. The most pronounced problem is the citizen’s health.Joko Widodo as Jakarta’s governor instituted the Jakarta Health Card ( KJS) system in November last year, which aims to provide for poor citizens who are sick, with free medical treatment at comminity health centers and third class rooms in local hospitals. But nowadays many hospitals deny KJS’s patients for many reasons.
The first reason is all of the rooms in the hospital had been fully after the KJS launch. Many hospitals were flooded by patients who had KJS. This situation made many hospitals deny KJS patients because there were no rooms. In February a premature baby died from a respiratory problem. One week after she was born, shewas denied admitance by eight hospitals in Jakarta.
The second reason is inadequade care and unavailable fasilities. The patient explosion which happened in several hospitals in Jakarta wasn’t accompanied by adequate fasilities so, the staff of hospital could not handle the number of patients who had certain diseases.Againon Saturday, March 9 2013, this problem resulted a teenager dying after recieving late treatment in Jakarta. Her family had a KJS, but was denied by four hospitals.
The last reason is there is no hospital to respond patient for obtaining treatment or a remaining room. And this problem was demonstrated by an emergency call of 119 staff. If the staff of hospitals were informed of the problem, at lease they could have helped to find the a hospital which had room for the patient. So, that he could obtain the best treatment and decrease the chance of death.
The above information shows us that KJS service is not yet ready for the KJS system.  inadequate care and unavialable facilities is spread throughout the city. The KJS system can be implanted well when there is cooperation between Jakarta’s Goverment and his citizens.
